design/specs/manufacturing issue? Electrical characteristics good, BUT does not work in some devices... no electrical contact! EXAMPLE: PrincetonTec tec40 flashlight (made in USA). REASON: Unlike most AA cells, the "negative" end of the cell is slightly recessed in the casing instead of slightly protruding. Therefore contact is not made with a device that has a flat bus linking cells in line. A bit of Aluminum foil to beef up the bus was a work-around, but unreliable as this is used as an emergency &/or underwater (SCUBA) light source. April 26, 2013
Short life span Two new batteries which were used for freeway smart tag can last only 1 week. The battery is only discharge when it passed by the scanner at the tol plaza. This is very surprising as this is not the usual life span. April 18, 2013
poor value 9v battery was installed in smoke detector at first of month, 6 days later, battery was bad (measured just over 8 volts) date on battery is 03-2015. it was the first battery removed from package of 4 December 11, 2012
Bad battery in package AA battery in the package with a damaged side wall. November 30, 2012
As good as it claims this product does as it is advertised. longevity is good. November 29, 2012
9 volt batteries are expensive, buy them on sale Great value for our fire alarms, change them only once a year November 5, 2012
proven itself time and time again Used this product in a critical time. During a major tornado in our area on April 27, 2011 we used the 9v in our scanner in the closet. We had no radi just the scanner. No cell internet either. The scanner enabled us to know where the path of the storm came from and was headed. Thank you for knowing I could depend on this product for my families dafety! June 13, 2012
Most trusted battery I will only buy Energizer batteries for my smoke detectors. I do not think I have ever bought the Max , but if they are as trustworthy as regular Energizer I am going to try them next time I get to the store, Nothing you need to depend on more than you and your family and pets safety, so I depend on energizer batteries. Answer:
Thanks for your question. Below is the answer from from our technical team.

Capacity = 625 mAh under a 25 mA load to 0.8 volts per cell. There is no direct conversion for mAh to joules. However there is a conversion of watt hours to joules (10,000 joules = 2.7778 watt hours). The watt hours can roughly be calculated by multiplying the amp hour capacity by the average voltage during the discharge.

Answer:
The battery capacity may be influenced by both temperature and discharge rates during use. However, setting those variances aside for the sake of example, you should multiply the 9 volts times the mAh to establish the milliwatt-hours. The sum will equal watt-seconds or Joules.

Answer:
Hi Lucy, thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. There is not a maximum current specification for alkaline batteries. The time desired and the minimum voltage required at the high current will impact if the battery will meet the user’s needs. For example, if only a few second pulse is required, the battery can deliver significantly more current than if hours of service is needed. A discharge curve for our 522 9 volt alkaline battery could be around 100 mA for continuous drain. Please feel free to contact us with any additional questions or concerns on this at 1-800-383-7323.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. When it comes to smoke alarms and our Energizer 9v batteries, we normally recommend changing them over every 6 months. Though that is just a recommendation, you can leave it in longer without changing it, as long as you keep an eye on the use by date the battery should last for many years.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. You will be able to locate the use by date on the battery itself. It is located at the top next to "9v” starts with "03". I do apologize for this inconvenience.
