Energizer Advanced Lithium 9V Battery 2.9 5 14 14
Piece of junk lasted 1 year!!!!! Piece of junk lasted 1 year!!!!!! It says lasts "up to 10 years!" Lasted one year in hard wired smoke detector and paid a small fortune for it! Would not buy again! April 27, 2013
Lasted only six months Last fall the regular battery in our smoke detector went dead after one year. I bought an Energizer Advanced Lithium battery with the thoughts that it would last several years, especially since it was twice the cost of regular batteries. Six months later the battery charge is gone. Last only 1/2 the life of a regular battery for twice the cost. Last one I buy. March 24, 2013
Lasted About a Year Like many other reviewers that had issues, I am another one of them. I bought the Lithium battery for a smoke detector, in hopes of lasting the same 10 year lifespan of the smoke detector. Yet, here I am replacing the battery after a year, but at 3 times the cost of a alkaline battery. January 27, 2013
Absoluetly Worthless! I purchased 12 of these for a client's safety edge that required a lithium battery ... 5 days later the devices are beeping because the batteries are low again. These are totally worthless!!! December 10, 2012
Only lasted 3 1/2 months... These batteries are suppose to last up to 10 years...ha...they didn't even last 4 months. I think a regular 9V battery lasts longer than these. Don't spend $10 on these batteries. August 6, 2012
Advanced Lithium Longevity I used this battery for all my smoke detectors. Now I do not have to worry about changing it every year or battery acid leakage. Saves money in the long run. June 13, 2012
Great for Wireless Mics As a music teacher i know how important our wireless miss are. We used to use the Duracell Procell botteries until in one performance one went flat on us so we changed and now i am confidente in using these batteries and that they will not go flat half way through a performance. May 8, 2012
Bought this less than a year ago This battery does not last longer than your regular 9v battery. I don't see how they can put "up to 10 year back-up battery" on a battery that last less than a year. I used the battery for my AC powered smoke detector. I purchased two so lets cross fingers that this one last longer than a year. April 12, 2012

Battery Size

Hello, this 9 volt Lithium Battery will not fit into my wireless transmitter, but the regular Energizer Alkaline will. I thought batteries were all standard sizes. Is there a difference in the physical dimensions between an Energizer Alkaline 9V and an Energizer Advanced Lithium 9V?

Answer:
Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. The physical size of batteries is regulated by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the International Electro technical Commission (IEC). These organizations set standard dimensions with tolerances for maximum and minimum dimensions for each battery size. Energizer batteries are manufactured to be within the tolerances set by ANSI and IEC. It is important that device manufacturers design their applications to work properly with all batteries made to these specifications. Sometimes device manufacturers do not follow these specifications and fit problems can occur. Please contact us with any other questions at 1-800-383-7323.

10 years is SHELF life, isn't it?

I see that many bad reviews are due to the
batteries not lasting 10 years. However, the comments seem to be referring to life under load, not shelf life.

Please make the distinction clearer on you pages, Perhaps:
. shelf life is 10 years (compared to x years for
Energizer MAX alkaline)
. capacity is {N} mAh, compared to {M} mAh
for Energizer MAX alkaline.

Answer:
Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. This battery is designed for a 10yr battery back up for AC powered smoke detectors. If you have a standard smoke detector, please make sure it can take a lithium battery. Most standard smoke detectors will only take Alkaline.

If you have an AC powered device it should last you quite a few years unless the power goes out then it will start to drain the battery reducing the longevity.

Thank you for taking the time to contact Energizer.

have you looked on data.energizer.com for info? or do you need more details? i'm guessing "more details" would be proprietary, so if the stuff from data.energizer.com is not enough, you may be stuck.
