Answer:

No. The self discharge rate and voltage characteristics during discharge do not make rechargeable batteries suitable for smoke alarms not designed for rechargeable batteries. The owner's manual of the smoke alarm should be checked for recommended battery types.

What long, after recharging a 9V battery, will it last?

After recharging our 9V battery and placing it into a microphone it usually lasts about 3 hours before it dies. Is this normal?

I have been using this product for a couple of years to power the wireless unit for my electric bass.

If I am playing a long session, I get 3.5 to 4 hours per charge of steady, consistent power; then it drops off and out instantly when it goes. My solution is to change out to a spare one at about 3 hours into the useage.

If I am just practicing 1.5 hrs in a night, I get about 2.5 to 3 days of useage per charge.

I don't know if this is the level promised or not, but I have not found a better rechargable.

I rotate two, recharging daily, and the batteries themselves last me about a year before they need to be replaced.

Answer:

Thanks for your question. The 9 volt Recharge battery (NH22) uses 7 NiMH 175 mAh button cells in series. Energizer does not offer these unit cells separately.

NiCad batteries use a different battery technology. We recommend that you only use NiMH batteries with a charger specifically designed for NiMH batteries.

Thank you for your great question! I apologize about this inconvenience but unfortunately, there is no expiration date on a rechargeable battery but they do have a five year shelf life. nimh batt. that will not charge, is the batt. exporation date passed.

I am useing a nimh charger to charge a nimh 9 volt(7.2volt) batt., but batt. will only get up to 2.5 volts charge. There is a number on the bottom of the two batt. 1105, could this possibley be the exporation date, if not where can i find it , or what can be the problem. thank: Rodg

Thank you for your great question. I would like to apologize about this but it seems as though the battery is not accepting a charge correctly. I think the problem may be that this is an older battery. The 7.2V rechargeable 9V is an obsolete battery. We have upgraded the battery to 8.4V. Hope this helps. Have to have rechargeable batteries for all the toys we have I couldn't live without rechargeable batteries in my house, because of all my grandson's toys and games. Everyday there is one toy or another that needs batteries, not including my camera and computer. Couldn't live without them June 14, 2012

long lasting I am especially pleased with buying this product, I am using it in my vcr remote, I have replace the battery only once as we have had the same one I think for at least 4000 playing hours. May 3, 2012

Lasts in my smoke detectors I check my smoke detectors monthly and evaluate the " juice " left when we change our clocks every 6 months and then usually change my 9V annually. Great battery! I don't need to climb the ladders to change also last 12 months but are expensive to buy even at Sam's Club. May 3, 2012

my secret to a long long life i enjoy this battery a lot because my son has several remote control items and after going through several hundred batteries i came upon this one and have found that you do not have to replace it near as many times in its life as you would another brands battery and can recharge it over and over and it works as good as a new one...... Love this Product I feel that the 9v rechargable batteries are just GREAT expecially for all important household uses such as carbon monixde detecters as well as smoke detecters they are longer lasting and what i' ve noticed I didnt have to charge them for almost 19 months these batteries are life saver for childrens toys I would Totally Recomend this product to everyone.
