Love this product I bought this product to replace one I lost. This works great! I use it mainly for my computer mouse or my digital camera & have no complaints. I'm going to by 2 more rechargeable batteries so I'll have enough batteries to go around. April 19, 2013
Product failed I purchased this a couple of weeks ago and finally got around to using it,i put the batteries that came with it on to charge as they didnt work my camera so i plugged it in and walked away, came back to the kitchen and found the batteries had exploded in the charger and was dripped onto my counter top. i just wanted to let you know the store said i needed to contact your company and wouldnt take it back. needless to say im a little upset with this product. April 13, 2013
charger quit in midle of photo shoot I bought the product less than a year ago. Last night i was using the batteries that came with the product, in my flash for my photo shoot. I paused to recharge the batteries. The charger started up as always. after about 15 minutes I removed the batteries and resumed shooting. the batteries hadnt charged much at all. The LED on the charger stays green. i bought more of the same Energizer rechargeable batteries and the charger still never comes to life and the LED is always green. I don't have the packaging or the receipt anymore so as far as i know im stuck with a paperweight. Very disappointed after only a few months off non continuous use. March 31, 2013
Disappointed I've only used this once and now it wont charge the batteries. I'm very disappointed with this product and will call the company concering this. March 28, 2013
charger did not work for my trip I purchase the basic charger before a trip , did not work. I try different outlets at home as well as my hotel in San Diego March 28, 2013
Model CHV C3-UK I bought this with 4 batteries each ( 4 AA and 4 AAA) for my camera and wireless headphones. They are working fine. Good product. March 26, 2013
LEDs I bought model CHCC-EU from egypt. I put in the 2 included batteries for the first time but the green LEDs didn't turn off even after 14 hours. I tried batteries in my gillet shaver and they work fine but the green LEDs never turn off. Am I suppose to stop it after 8 hours regardless the LEDs or what? March 8, 2013
Not impressed I have had this product for about a month now and when I charge the batteries for a long while to make sure they last, they only last a few hours. I charged them for long enough, took them out with my digital camera and they didn't last very long at all. March 4, 2013

Answer:
Yes, you need an electrical transformer 220 to 110 for 6Watts. Write down the info from the charger and ask for a transformer that matches those options at the electrical shop.

It appears that you are asking about the CHVC3 charger. The datasheet indicates this charger is designed for 120 VAC 60 Hz. It is not designed for any other voltage inputs. You can find more info at http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/chvc...

Answer:
The PDF file suggested by the Energizer staff is - NOT - the correct one for the Basic charger shown in the product image here. It's for the "Simple" (probably older model #); the correct one is: http://data.energizer.com/PDFs/chcc.pdf.

HOWEVER neither user manuals states that there is any automatic shutoff. For this "Basic" model, all it says is "Note: Remove batteries when charging time is complete. #...)." next a chart of batteries. In other words, there seems to be risk of over-charging.

It seems logical there would be an automatic shut-off but why is that NOT specified to the the consumer-user? One seems to have to go and buy an separate alarm/timer which is not cost effective.

There is also no mention that one has to charge at least 2 batteries at a time -- AND if one is more depleted than the other, how is one to know when both are fully charged?

I understand this the lowest or entry level charger but the lack of information or instructions causes people to return it and also give it bad reviews at Amazon, etc.

Unless I get some infromation here and/or when I call Energizer soon, I'll be returning mine to Home Depot soon.

Sincerely,

P.S. Knight

Hi Shibu, thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding this charger when the batteries are placed in the charger the lights will glow green, this charger has a automatic shut off so depending on the MAH ratting of the battery it will shut off roughly around 8.5 hours.

You will find the manual on our website.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Unfortunately it is difficult to answer this question because our chargers are packed with different battery and mah numbers. My best advice is to look at the mah ratting through the packaging; it is located on top of the battery directly under "AA". It could be 2000/2300/1400/1300 mah, I do apologize for this inconvenience.

I was wondering how to tell when the battery is charged since there is only one light. Typically chargers have a red and green light green meaning charged and red meaning currently charging. I was also wondering if I could use batteries of a different brand in this charger? The energizer batteries seem to have short life and need something little more reliable.

Answer:
Thank you for your great question. This charger is our Basic Charger. It does not have a shutoff mechanism like a lot of others do. With this charger you need to keep track of the different charge times from the instructions. After charging for the correct amount of time we recommend to immediately unplug the charge and remove the batteries. Here is a list of charge times for some batteries. AA batteries 1300mAh - 2000mAh need to be charged between 8 -12.5 hours. AA batteries 2100mAh - 2500mAh need to be charged 13 - 18 hours. AAA batteries need to be charged for 10-12 hours. This charger should charge any NiMH battery however it has only been tested with Energizer Rechargeable Batteries. If you ghave any further questions please feel free to let us know.
