Answer:
The thickness of a 319 cell is 2.6mm, here are a list of thinner ones with the same diameter (that will work):

379 - 2.15mm (Most likely what you need)
317 - 1.65mm
335 - 1.25mm

Answer:
Just to clarify your question, I believe you meant to type "SR527SW", correct? If that's the case, then you have the right replacement battery size. Both the 319 and the SR527SW are the same size (2.7 mm height), so thickness should be the same. Could it be that the battery is just not being installed in the cavity correctly and leaving some space between the contacts? There are thinner batteries of course (379 or 317) with the same diameter that you can try, but if the 319 fit previously, it sounds like it might be an installation issue.

Answer:
I think the answer you're looking for is the Energizer 392 silver oxide battery. The Varta V3GA is a lower quality battery so there are 192 batteries that should work as well. For better performance and the same size, I'd recommend the 392 from Energizer.

Answer:
The Energizer 393 has been combined with the 309 battery. Unfortunately, due to slower sales of this type and a lack of retail devices using this cell type, it is only provided in Professional packaging. You can find the Energizer 393/303 online but there are not many retailers who carry this type. Apologize for any inconvenience.

Answer:
It depends on what you mean by smaller. There are several button batteries that are technically smaller in diameter and thickness than the 319 including the 379, 317, 335, 333, 339 and the 337. With that said, these batteries are not replacements for one another and power output varies by type. You can use our technical product sheets on Energizer.com to learn more about both size and capacity.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. I do apologize for this inconvenience, however at this time there is not suitable replacement for the 333 battery. The dimensions for this battery are 6.8 mm for the diameter and 1.05 mm for height. The only one we have would be the 321z with 6.8mm / 1.65mm. I do apologize once again.

Answer:
Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. On the back of the package you will find either two or three letters, the last letter represents the year and the first letter represents the month. For example if it reads KB or KZB this would mean Jan of 2013. The Z simply means zero mercury. If you run into other codes you would have to contact our consumer affairs office to provide the manufacture date on that package. I do apologize for this inconvenience.
