1989 - The Energizer Bunny is born

The Energizer Bunny first hopped onto the scene and into America's hearts in his commercial debut where he drummed away—in full flip flop and sunglasses glory—to outlast all the toys powered by other batteries.

1991 - Zero mercury hits the stage

The Energizer Bunny enjoys an 80s "hare" band as much as the rest of us – but where he doesn't want heavy metal is in his household batteries. So he was thrilled when Energizer led the industry and sold the world's first zero mercury alkaline battery. Rock on!

1992 - Energizer introduces the first AA lithium battery

He was taller than the Statue of Liberty, had size 98 EEEEE feet and was held together with 84 miles of thread … and no, we're not full of hot air! The Energizer Bunny Hot "Hare" Balloon went on to paint the skies pink for nearly two decades.

1994 - The Energizer Bunny faces the dark side

Even the darkest of foes are no match for the Energizer Bunny in this "force"-ful advertising campaign. Thankfully his opponent forgot to pack his lightsaber with Energizer® batteries.

1997 - The Energizer Bunny shines a light on innovation

Those sunglasses aren't just for looks! The Energizer Bunny needed his shades when he helped launch the first line of Energizer® LED lights. The LED technology uses less energy and—much like the spirit of the Energizer Bunny—is nearly indestructible.

1999 - The Energizer Bunny is named a Top Brand Icon

Everyone agrees he is special, but it became official when Advertising Age® * named the Energizer Bunny to its list of the top 10 brand icons of the 20th century, citing him as "the ultimate symbol of longevity, perseverance and determination."

2006 - The Energizer Bunny makes it into the dictionary

Not only is he an icon of unstoppable energy, but he became an official "definition," too, when he was added to the 2006 Oxford English Dictionary, defined as:

A persistent or indefatigable person or phenomenon.

2008 - The Energizer Bunny has a close encounter

The Keep Going® spirit of the Energizer Bunny reached extraterrestrial levels when he helped power an alien spacecraft in one of his favorite television commercials.

2009 - The Energizer Bunny celebrates 20 years

He kicked off his 20th birthday celebration at the 82nd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade® in true Energizer Bunny fashion when he escaped the parade route to "keep going and going …" and was later seen having a "hare"-raising good time!

2009 - The Energizer Bunny goes social

What did he do today? Keep Going®. What did he eat for lunch? Carrots. After the Energizer Bunny joined Facebook and Twitter, fans everywhere could now follow his adventures.

2011 - The Energizer Bunny launches—that's positivenergy

The Energizer Bunny will always inspire perseverance, but he's grown to represent much more. To launch it in the US, the Energizer Bunny lent a paw to help power and preserve America's national parks.

2011 - The Energizer Bunny kicks off Energizer Night Race for a Brighter World

Trading his flip-flops for running shoes, the Energizer Bunny sprinted to the start of the first US Energizer Night Race, joining runners across 30 countries as they raced at night by the light of an Energizer® headlight to raise awareness of the need for safe, clean, solar light for families without electricity around the world.

2012 - 25 years of Change Your Clock Change Your Battery®

Each year the Energizer Bunny partners with the International Association of Fire Chiefs to share the reminder to change the batteries in your smoke alarms when you change your clocks for daylight saving. So don't say we didn't warn you if you happen to see some big pink ears poking out of a fire truck near you.

2012 - The Energizer Bunny goes inside the battery to introduce Power Seal Technology
