Compact and easy to use. I bought these because if our power goes out or we blow a fuse my wife has light. I have them in drawers in different rooms of the house as she hates to be in the dark. I also work so if the power goes out because we blew a fuse she can go down in the basement and flip the circuit breaker switch. December 16, 2011

no more dead batteries in flashlight my grandsons live with me and everytime we needed a flashlight we either couldnt find it or the little one had left it on and the batteries were dead. we bought everybody their own rechargeable flashlight and one extra that we keep hidden so when we need a flashlight we have one. Answer: 

Unless the product has changed recently, the previous answers both are incorrect, at least in part. It was easy to remove and replace the battery (just one screw) in my Weatheready Compact Rechargeable LED Light. However, Energizer doesn't sell this button-style cell. The flashlight I opened up came with a Varta CP300H rechargeable NiMH battery, available online for $3 and up.

It's rechargeable by natural light. No need for replacement batteries. Even if the solar charge gets exhausted, just crank a half-minute to get a couple of minutes of light.

Regarding this product, the battery life is typically around 2 years, when the battery goes out, unfortunately there is not replacement. It requires only a rechargeable coin cell battery, Alkaline will not work in this light, a new light would have to be purchased.

Can this be purchased in bulk?

Hello,
My sorority is talking to people and groups about being red cross ready, in case of a major disaster. Thinking of ways to help them get prepared. So, I thought about these flashlights, because I have 2 and great when the power go out. This type of flashlight would be great for the elderly who lives by themselves and could add it to there kit. Best position for switch when charging?

After this light is fully charged you can place it in the Off/Charge position to maintain its charge.
