Had a heck of a time figuring out how to put batteries in this thing. There is only one place that it unscrews, and there was a cylindrical plastic sleeve in the place where the batteries should go. Nowhere on the packaging or on the product was there any indication the required polarity direction the batteries had to go in, and the fact that this plastic sleeve had to be removed in order to get the batteries in. Unsat. in this respect.

Agree with fragile
This is my favorite pen light for medical work. Fits perfect in the pen pocket and has a hook on it. Great quality light, but I have broken two of them just from dropping them. The click button breaks and then the whole thing no longer works. I love it though and will buy a third.

Nice Product but too fragile
I am on my 3rd pen light. I really like these lights, but have broken the push buttons on the first 2. When they work they are unbeatable. But the break too easily to count on them.

Overal it's good, but needs a better insert
As mentioned by other users, it's a fantastic light. Very bright, slender, push button is easy to operate and the LED allows extended battery life. However, the biggest draw back is the plastic insert that screws the cap to the metal body. it cracks after some light use - pulling the flashlight in and out of my pocket. If Energizer could replace the insert with a material that's tougher, I would buy a case of them and give them to everybody in our shop.

great item at reasonable price
Have used one (only 1) for about 4 years with no problems. went through two (2) more expensive penlights in 10 months due to switch failure, so I highly recommend this product.

Threaded plastic top breaks after moderate usage.
Pen light used 3-5 times per day, work related. After a few months plastic cap breaks at the thread area. Love the light and would be happy to pay more for a more durable light. Have had two break within 6 months.

Cheap Plastic Cap End Piece
I would pay 2-3 times the current cost for a pen with a solid insert in the cap portion. I like the current design because of the slenderness. I am a mechanic and carry the pen every day in my shirt pocket. I am on my 8th light in the last year and a half. The main reason I choose these lights over say a streamlight is due to the fact the energizer pen uses aaa and not the super expensive aaaa. I think energizer could put streamlight out of business with these pens if they got the cap fixed.
