Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding this light it does have 40 lumens, as far as how long the batteries will last, it is hard to make that determination, it really depends on how often the device is going to be used. The more the device is being used the more it will drain down on the battery.

How to install the batteries?

I bought this product today and I can not figure out where the batteries go.
Why doesnt your packaging show the installation of the batteries.
