Energizer 3 LED Headlight 4.1 5 7 7
Nice, entry-level unit Have purchased many over the years for work and home. Nice design. Easy to use. Hinge is a weak spot--it will break if it falls more than a couple of feet. Those with XL heads need to look elsewhere. Had trouble cleaning contacts after I left batteries in it too long without turning it on. Works well used on a cap. Can be worn around neck, upside-down, if you don't want a forehead mark (it will leave a forehead mark). Strap could be a bit longer/larger. Water resistance would raise my rating, as well as a more durable hinge. April 26, 2013
Did not last long poor assembly I received this as Christmas present. After a few months the main beam failed. On inspection it was found that the micro-switch had become detached. Now only fit for the bin. April 4, 2013
Bad design When this headlamp is on, it performs exactly as you'd expect it to, but it's not while it's on that is the issue. Because the on/off/selector slide switch is so exposed and easy to move from side-to-side, when the headlamp is stored in a pouch, backpack, bag, pocket, or any other place that you might carry it, it will easily be turned on by a nudge and the battery will die. An easy way to solve this would be to open the battery compartment and turn one of the batteries around, but on this headlamp that is very difficult and requires a coin or some tool to pry the compartment open, which is held in by an L-shaped lug of flimsy plastic, which is twisted and weakened every time you pry the compartment open. It will break after doing this a few times, and then the compartment will not stay closed without tape. Overall it is a very poor design. February 18, 2013
THIS PRODUCT IS ECONOMICAL AND GREAT. WE HAVE BEEN PROMOTING THIS PRODUCT TO OUR CLIENTS FOR MORE THAN THREE YEARS, AND THEY ARE CONTINOUS OF REPEAT ORDERS FOR THIS PRODUCT, IT IS ECONOMICAL SINCE MOST BRANDED PRODUCTS ARE TOO EXPENSIVE YET ENERGIZER IS AT THE SAME QUALITY BUT OF REASONABLE PRICE. WE WILL CONTINUE PROMOTING THIS PRODUCT SINCE OUR CLIENTS LOVED IT. May 24, 2012
Great for outdoors I'm a Scoutmster for a Boy Scout Troop in California and this headlamp is great. Its been dropped, kicked soaked by water stepped on and it keeps on going. The buttons still work and the light with batteries lasts at least 3-5 months with continuous use on the trail or in the campsite. Its comfortable to wear, not supper heavy or bulky. The elastic band has kept up for 2 years now without streching or fraying due to hard use. I take it wherever I go and has never let me down. You could pay more, but why. It does what its supposed to do. My scouts love them. May 2, 2012
Great for everything This product is very handy to have, great for any hard to see fix-it's around the house. Also kids love to put this on their heads for fun. The price is resonable. Cant go wrong with this product for any use. January 9, 2012

Is there a sharp sudden drop of brightness at the end of battery life or is it tapered? That is do you always need to keep a spare set of batteries with you (sudden) or do you have enough time to use the same ones?

Answer:
Thanks for your question. When using alkaline batteries, the brightness will gradually fade (or taper off) as the battery drains. So you will not getting a sudden warning; you will just notice that the brightness will begin to fade over time. If you use lithium batteries instead, the brightness will remain constant and then have a sudden drop off.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding this product, once you open up the battery compartment you should be able to pull it right open with out any difficulties. On the side of the compartment you should see where it states “battery access" once you get that open it should open all the way.

Thank you for taking the time to contact Energizer.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. For this light we recommend using the Energizer Max Alkaline battery. The Lithium battery is designed for higher drain deices and the rechargeable is only a 1.2v battery and would need more charging.
