Good Product
The reviews rating this as a two star product are not being fair. Being angry that YOUR energy draining phone doesn't work with the product doesn't mean the product is bad. I can't confirm nor deny the phone charging ability on my Evo4G but I have not tried (with the batteries).
Everything else on this light works excellent. The crank is very low resistance and easy to crank for a good amount of time. (I did two minutes straight.) The light is bright even on low and the radios (both NOAA and AM/FM) work great.
This kind of light is invaluable to have in your family's emergency kit.
I knocked this down a bit in quality though as the tuning knob for the AM/FM radio is very cheap and sometimes tunes up when you're trying to tune down.
Those kind of small things I have noticed are a consistent issue with Energizer, but not a big enough deal to avoid this light. A little bit pricier than I think it should be... but all said and done it's not a bad purchase.

Does everything it needs to, Great product
I have seen a few reviews that this product does not charge a smartphone, but all through hurricane sandy mine did a great job charging phones. It charged up my Evo4g fine, and did well charging my mother in-laws Iphone. My only dislike is that if you are running multiple features all at once it does need to be charge frequently, but that is to be expected.

most desired feature does not work
For me the main feature that set this apart from the competition was its ability to charge a cell phone. Unfortunately, I discovered that it does not have adequate power to switch an iphone 5 into its charging mode.

This product will NOT charge a smartphone!
The light works OK, and the radio is good, but the cell phone charger is useless unless you are using a cell phone from 3 years ago.
