Use your existing  USB cable or the Micro USB cable (included) to charge your smartphone. Simply connect the included Micro USB cable to a USB charger or port on your laptop when it’s time to recharge the charger. Magnetic clips tame the cables when you’re not charging.

I forgot to mention. The other poster is quite correct. No shutoff switch is required on the charger. It is the device requiring the charge the draws the current. Once it is charged, it simply doesn't draw any more.

Actually, it is 5V ... volts. The amperage is posted in the specs in the article. It is this is sufficient current to quickly charge your smartphone or bluetooth earpiece or tablet device. Literally anything that charges with a micro USB plug.

Question: I have a Suunto Ambit watch that requires 5 volts and 500 milliamps to charge it. The Suunto company states to connect it to a computer's USB port in order to charge it. I was wondering if the Energizer Portable Smartphone Charger could charge the watch without any damage to the watch? I suppose the question is will the charger output 5 volts and 500ma without going beyond that amount of current (500ma's)?

Devices requiring a micro USB connector for charging are supposed to comply with EU standards for compatibility. Your device meets that criteria as does the Energizer charger.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding this product, In general, the device will regulate the power it pulls from the charger. The output of our charger conforms to the USB 2.0 battery charging specification. If your application is designed for battery charging using a USB input, both charger and device would be compatible.

If your application is designed for battery charging using a standard USB input, both charger and device would be compatible.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding this product, yes you can, but it won’t be a simultaneous charge. If you attach your phone to the charger and then attach the charger to a power source, both devices will charge, however, the device will charge first, then the charger will charge.
