Great for car trips! This has been a huge help to our family for car trips. And not just long trips, but local ones when you just forgot to charge the phone before leaving! May 24, 2012
the plug-in has great features I like the idea of the USB charger for my car so I can use all of my portatble phones, ipads, etc. without worry. May 4, 2012
Versatile, it's what's hot I love having this item. I don't have to buy a different adapter for each electonic item. I can charge my iPod & my android phone at the same time using just USB cords. Buying one adapter & using the cords I already have just makes life easier. May 1, 2012
Versatile charger This charger is great because both my kids can charge their electronics at the same time January 9, 2012
a good product I recieved my usb car charger as a gift and I have gotten alot of use from it mostly for my mp3 player. but have also charged my digital camera with it too. it's a good product. December 16, 2011
Convenient car charger This charger is very convenient. With dual plugs I could charge both my cell phone and iPod Touch at the same time, at least until I dropped the iPod Touch ;(. It also allowed my husband and I to both charge our phones at the same time. Easy to just leave plugged in to the car. December 15, 2011
Essential especially for a long trip Energizer you did it again!!, they're times when I'm going to a trip I power on my ipod and I realized that I forget charge in home. That's where energizer makes its appearance this suits perfectly, and better if I can share with someone else. That's why dual make it better. :) November 22, 2011
Great With this product I can charge two devices, really handy. November 21, 2011

Answer:
Isn't 5 volts at 1 amp really 5,000 mA --- and power has time involved, so we can toss in the 'hour' piece if you'd like, but I think you have a units problem here --- and the numbers ought to be 5,000 and 10,000 if you want to include the m in mAh --- or 5 and 10 if you drop it.

So, I'm looking for probably the same thing as you are --- but the USB spec tells me that USB provides either 0.5 or 0.9 amps --- (usb 1 & 2 are 0.5, usb 3 is 0.9). The problem is that I have a Magellan GPS that requires 1.0 amps --- and they are abusing the USB standard, so manufactures must be selling into that market. What gives with having a 1 amp 'usb' device anyways? Isn't it no longer USB when it 'exceeds' the stated performance of the interface?

Hi Jake, thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. The output of our charger conforms to the USB 2.0 battery charging specification. If your application is designed for battery charging using a USB input, both charger and device would be compatible.

Thank you for taking the time to contact Energizer.

Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. Regarding this product, it will charge most common products that have a USB port, as long as your device has the proper connections, then it would be compatible. We do offer a charger designed for iPods that one would be the PC-1CAT, this is the one I would recommend.
