Answer:
Yes, it can be used with both 110 and 220 volt systems. The unit says "Input: 100-240". The plugs are the US flat prongs, so you will need an adapter to plug it into a European socket.

What is the difference of having 5w vs 10w, and will it degrade/damage the batteries on other usb devices that use 5w or some other variation? You should create a section/chart on charger usage, compatibility, benefits, harm, etc.

Answer:
The chargers don't push the juice into the device, it draws. 5w or 10w output is a rating based of how many volts and amps. So, a 5 volt 2 amp charger will give you 10 watts (10w). So volts x amps = Watts. Watts indicate power usage. Any 1 amp to 2 amp charger is a good strong charger for usb. Many are labeled by output volt and amp. Look for the output amps, get a 1 - 2 amp, 5 volt output rating. FYI some are labeled in milliamps (1/1000th of an amp) so look for 1000 to 2000 milliamps.

Answer:
Thank you for this great question, I would be happy to assist you. When it comes to 5w and 10w products, you want to stay with the proper wattage. If the device is under 10w we do not recommend using our chargers, unfortunately they would not be compatible.

Thank you for taking the time to contact Energizer.

Answer:
Thank you for your question! It is unclear from the documentation for this camcorder if the USB connection is just used for data transfer or if it can also charge the device. The AC adapter that is included has a proprietary connection.

I recommend that you obtain a replacement charger from Sony's parts website directly.

Raspberry Pi Requirements

I'm looking for a USB Wall charger for a Raspberry Pi computer.

The following are the requirements;

1. 5V
2. 1000 to 2000mA
3. Micro USB

I'm looking for a unit that will hold firmly at 5V under a load. Unlike what I've seen is that many units will drop down to 4.76V with other devices attached to the Raspberry Pi's onboard USB ports.

Answer:
Thanks for your question. The USB specification allows for an average voltage of 4.75 to 5.25V when a port is connected under load. Our testing on this wall charger did find a slight decrease in the average voltage, but did not drop to 4.76V as your other tests on other chargers found. I will email you the complete results of our tests.
