  • Seek shelter immediately if your area is under a tornado warning!
  • If indoors: head to the basement, storm cellar or the lowest level of the structure
  • If there is no basement, go to the innermost room, keeping as many walls between yourself and the outside as possible
  • Stay away from glass, windows, outside doors and walls
  • If outdoors: lie flat in a ditch or culvert and cover your head and neck with your hands
  • If you are in a moving vehicle: stop and seek shelter in the lowest level of the closest structure or in a ditch or culvert - do not stay in your car and avoid stopping near or under trees, overpasses and utility wires
