Want to know when to change your clock in 2016?
Daylight Saving Time (U.S.) 2016 begins at 2:00 AM on
Sunday, March 13
and ends 2:00 AM on
Sunday, November 6
It’s that time of year again! Change Your Clock, Change Your Batteries™!
For 29 years, Energizer® brand has partnered with the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) to keep families safe through the Change Your Clock Change Your Batteries™ program. Every fall, Energizer and the IAFC work to remind people of the simple, life-saving habit of changing and testing the batteries in smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors when setting the clocks back for daylight saving time.
The National Fire Protection Association reports that 71% of smoke alarms which failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries. This reinforces how important it is to take this time each year to check smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Energizer would like to remind you of the importance of batteries not only in smoke alarms, but also the full range of devices that help keep us safe, secure and comfortable in our homes.
Home safety and security has evolved beyond smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Many families rely on other home devices connected to the Internet or their smartphones, also known as the Internet of Things, to enhance safety and security. Energizer provides smart energy for smart devices with battery options across our portfolio that power these connected home devices.
Energizer®is committed to educating you about home safety. Partnering with retailers and fire stations across the country, we want to remind you to change your batteries in all of your connected home devices when you change your clocks back for Daylight Saving Time.

Battery & Banner Requests
Attention firefighters! Each year as part of the Change Your Clock Change Your Batteries™ program, Energizer® donates a limited number of batteries to fire departments nationwide to actively participate in helping families to equip their home safety devices preceding the annual time change. The batteries are often distributed to community members that are at a high risk for home fires. Fire departments also use these batteries for neighborhood canvasses, community events and home visits. A limited number of banners are also available – let the Energizer Bunny™ help you create home safety awareness by placing this signage in your communities.
If you are a fire department and are interested in requesting batteries or a banner, please email Energizer.CYCCYB@fleishman.com. The deadline to request batteries and a banner is Monday, September 12 at 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.
